Renewal Kombucha

So what is 'kombucha' anyway?

Renewal Kombucha tea is brewed with a combination of dried tea leaves and herbs, sweetened with evaporated cane sugar, and fermented using a living culture of yeast and probiotic bacteria, often called a "mother" or a "SCOBY". This drink is known to be good for the body with health benefits including aiding in digestion, boosting the immune system, and enhancing mental functioning. Renewal Kombucha’s products are classified as non-alcoholic* and are brewed using organic ingredients with no added sweeteners or preservatives, using fair-trade ingredients where available. After the fermentation process is complete, kombucha contains low levels of sugar and caffeine, while retaining the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of its ingredients.

*contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume. While this qualifies our beverages as non-alcoholic according to the Code of Federal Regulations, we want those who wish to completely abstain from alcohol to be aware of the potential presence of trace amounts of alcohol in our drinks.

They Use the right stuff

You might think that a drink known for having so many medicinal qualities would taste... well... medicinal.

There's something unique about the taste of kombucha, with it's citric, slightly vinegary overtones. And we'll be honest, it's not everybody's cup of tea (see what we did there?). But, we've received overwhelmingly positive feedback about the balanced, herbacious flavor of our 100% additive free products. We're confident that, whether you're a veteran to kombucha or still trying to learn how to pronounce the word, you'll find something to like in our selection of products. But, the proof is in the tasting

NataliesChoice = Health & Wellness - Such begins in the gut.

People who drink kombucha tea regularly have reported it to be effective for healing a variety of physical conditions, including arthritis, psoriasis, high blood pressure, anxiety, diabetes, allergies, and even cancer. While we don't doubt the experience of these individuals, we can't in good conscience recommend our products as a treatment for any medical condition without the appropriate scientific evidence. Here's what the evidence so far has shown:

+ The probiotics present in kombucha may alleviate certain digestive problems, speed treatment of certain intestinal infections, and prevent or reduce the severity of colds and flu.    Mayo Clinic

+ Kombucha has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of digestive pathogens E Coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus.    Cornell University

+ Kombucha contains significant amounts of important nutrients such as B vitamins and essential amino acids, which are thought to enhance mental health, boost the immune system, and increase the body’s ability to burn fat.     American Nutrition Association

+ The tea used in kombucha contains polyphenols with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and contains substances linked to decreased risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.     Harvard Medical School

+ The fermentation process of kombucha increases the presence of antioxidants and sometimes changes them into more useful forms, which aid in the reduction of arthritis, inflammation and atherosclerosis.    Food Chemistry

+ Kombucha eliminates free radicals from the body, helping to protect cell walls and stop the progress of chronic diseases.     International Food Research Journal
